What Truein gives you
Note on the legal framework. The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 has been consolidated into India's four Labour Codes, in force from 21 November 2025, with central rules notified in May 2026 and state rules still rolling out. Contract labour obligations now sit primarily under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code. Under the Code on Social Security, 2020, statutory social security including provident fund and ESIC is being extended to contract and fixed-term workers rather than permanent staff alone.
